. . . . . makes you sort of glad that we orbit this stable, middle-aged Sun at 90 million miles - an extraordinary sweet spot that is not two cold or not to hot and been able to retain water and a atmosphere. Would not like to be around this familiar friend in our sky when it decides to vent all of its hydrogen and replace it with helium and then become a red giant. Basically that means all of the inner rocky planets such as Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars becoming consumed by it as it expands. I wonder when the time comes, if all those people who thought money be expended by the exploration of space, would then consider it to be a waste of money . . . . to survive as a species we must first figure out how to leave the cradle . . . . .
