o Past Track Record of Accomplishments Mobilization and formation of Community groups: In partnership with Mercy Corps we were able to mobilize and formed approximately 610 new community groups. Community Civic education- last year in partnership with KTI/USAID/Chemonics champion advocacy plan in 2007 post election and the main agenda was capacity building as a way of mitigating conflicts among the youths in post election affected areas and we were able to successfully manage an in kind grant of Kshs 2, 759,200/=, groups members have achieve in community sensitization on the use of use of Biogas and solar for youth and women business like Barber Shops in areas that have been underserved by electricity and more so to the entire members of public so that they understand their needs thus can engage with their leaders actively in improving their livelihood on energy distribution such as electricity installation creating an impact to their economy and as well enhancing job opportunities for the youth. So far we have done several activities on energy sustainable programs. Advocacy-My ID My Life campaign- in partnership with Mercy Corps, District Registrar of persons Kericho County we were able to assist more than 6000 youth in Kericho County who received their Identification Cards, this in turn enable jobless youths start up income generating activities and register community self help groups which has to date formed the wide network umbrella in disseminating our agenda on sustainable energy. Moreover the total reach out of Women and youth at Constituency levels with a minimum of 200 attending and documentary of the same well anchored. Entrepreneurship and life skills-with the support of Mercy Corps, TOT’s were trained from each constituency on business skills and the knowledge of sustainable energy on solar lighting and promoting business, this is a continuous process. Under objective 3 mentorship of young women- Sigowet south-west consulting firm in conjunction with Kericho county youth community forum has been able to carry out outreach campaigns and mentorship sessions with young girls and women in the community on small scale farming, business expansion and adequate utilization of sustainable energy such as Solar for lighting their businesses and homes. Plans are however underway to role out the young men mentorship in the program to capitalize on our success of training women.
