**phone conversation with my son** ring....ring... Destin: Hello Me: good morning son. Destin: Hi dad Me: what you doing? Destin: Sleeping. Me: at 9 a.m.?! Destin: Dad, I am a teenager. of course I am still sleeping at 9 a.m. on a Sunday. Me: haha I know son. I am just kidding. But uhm..... I need your help. long story short, I have 4 massive piles of branches out in from of the house. a light tree trimming turned into going crazy on the yard. I just picked up a trailer from Manny and on the way back home. I was hoping you could help me out for a couple of hours and load the trailer. I could really use your help. can you help me? Destin: *pause** *sigh* *breath*** are you going to feed me? Me: well yea, of course. Destin: **pause** *thought*** mmmmmmmmmk I guess dad, but only because I am the best son ever Me: thats what I always tell you. Ill be there in 20 minutes. Be ready. Destin: Ok Dad. Just have to give a shout out to the kid. My TEENAGE son (16 1/2 yrs) got up from sleeping, got dressed, and helped me for 3 1/2 hrs with manual labor. it was 110 degrees out. like idk 40% humidity. in the sun. never complained once. We talked, and laughed, worked and sweat. nonstop. It was supposed to be only for 2 hrs. Ended up being 3 1/2 hrs. Bught him a 16 sandwich, bag of chips, and a cookie and took him back to his moms. I know me as a teenager would have done everything I could to get out of it. I would have thrown out every excuse in the world. it would have only been basically by force, or money would I have been willing to do that. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing son who has always been there for me, as I have for him. I still stand by what I have said since he was just a little, that he is the best human being that I think I have ever met. When you have children (which any of you parents know) that love for your child is a whole other level of love. and you cant understand it till you have one. true story. Love you son. thanks again for the help today. You impress me, as always. :)
