some Obama care highlights: Individuals can no longer be denied coverage by insurance companies for pre-existing conditions. Insurance companies also may not charge men and women different rates. Health insurance companies can no longer drop your coverage when you are sick. Children can now stay on their parents insurance, up to the age of 26. Insurance companies are no longer allowed to set any annual or lifetime dollar limits on needed care. As of January 1, 2014, health insurance companies must justify any rate hikes they attempt to make - and they must give a relatively simple way to appeal the denial of any claim they may make.
