this mailing out to potential compaines for sponsership and donations : Dear My name is Dominick Helveston and I am the owner of Red’s Cycle in Vidor, Texas. I am also a partner with Freebird’s Custom Motorcycles and Trikes. I currently serve as the president of the Biker Care Unit of SETX, which is a non-profit motorcycle club that helps to raise funds for such causes as cancer, autism, and other charitable organizations. In July of 2012, I was involved in a debilitating motorcycle accident in which I sustained serious injuries. I was told that I might never walk again and that riding a motorcycle again was completely out of the question. At the time of the accident, I had a successful business that I started in 2009 in a garage with very little money. I have ridden motorcycles since the age of five, and riding has always been my one true love, my one true passion and my one true means of therapy. After my accident, my whole life stopped. My shop closed. My self esteem plummeted. And, in the midst of my depression, I could not do the one thing that always brought me peace…I could not ride. It was during this time of reflection that I decided if I could recover, I wanted to help others that found themselves in similar circumstances. My grandfather is a surviving WW2, purple heart veteran. My father is a Vietnam veteran. I have many friends and extended family members that have served as well. I was unable to serve my country for medical reasons and have always had the highest regard for the men and women who have. Many of our veterans return to us with disabilities, both physical and mental. For many, the readjustment to civilian life is a seemingly insurmountable challenge. I am requesting corporate sponsorship to help in the build of a trike for a disabled veteran. My partnership with Freebird’s has allowed me to design parts for persons with disabilities to continue to ride. I have donated half of the cost of the trike build, which is $20,000. I have solicited parts from the manufacturers that I have a dealer license with. I am in need of the remaining funds to complete the build. These funds will help to pay for labor, (I am donating mine) as well as other unforseen expenses that may occur. The funds will be put into an account under our 501C3 # for Biker Care Unit. Any additional funds that are left over will be donated to the veteran to use as they see fit. The veteran will be selected randomly from a list of veterans that have submitted applications along with their DD-214 discharge papers. After the selection is made, the trike will be built to that veteran’s specifications of disability. I have made contact with several media outlets to help get the word out. If you require any further information, such as websites, facebook pages, or the EIN# for our 501C3, I will be more than willing to accommodate you. Thank you for your interest. Sincerely, Dominick Helveston
