wat a brilliant film. Chiwetel Ejiofor was simply outstanding. He is definetly one of my favourite and versatile actors as Dirty pretty things, Kinky boots, Children of men... If u read the comment on the youtube link, its simply quite astonishing the amount of rasism still around. Why are u, as a rasist, going to watch a film about a Black freeman being kidnapped and then sold into slavery... of course u gonna hate it. ya mind is already scrambled. How can anyone not be moved by the injustice in this. Surely the prejudice and hate of this stance will just rot your very moral compass. That apart, unfortunately i feel in many ways we are entering a different form of economic and social slavery now so whilst many may say these dark days are over, the games hasnt changed so much. The ppl who were slave masters , plantation owners have just modernised and refined their art and we dont even realise. they dont just whip black ppl anymore, they whip everyone but that whip comes in the form of economic enslavement, reducing education funding, reduce assess to healthcare, reduce job satisfaction and job security, higher interest rates to borrow for your education, increasing price properties where now half or more of your income is just to pay rent. and who are the modern day overseers? doesnt that sound a bit like officer.. sounds like a KRS1 track....black cop. sounds of the police youtube/watch?v=vUQNjfhlREk
