well they say you cant win em all....Id just like to win two in a row...we dropped another game today. the 39 Batt. won 4-3 in a game that cudda been a lot worse. they jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead but we cut that lead in half as Keith Kelleher (4-3-7) netted another goal today. hes tied with Pat Cattani (4-3-7) for the point leader. Paul Rosati (2-4-6), who was pointless today, is nipping at their heels. they made it 4-2 on the strength of two power-play goals. now when I set out to light a fire under Jimmy McHales (0-0-0) ass, I meant for him to score some points. McHale was on a mission to wreak havoc on the other team. he led the team with 10 penalty minutes, a fight and a game suspension. he creamed a guy in front of the net. hit him so hard he had a tattoo that said Sherwood across his chest. that aside, we did have our chances to win or at the very least tie. we had a 5 on 3 advantage that stalled for most of it but the line of Rosati-the Doc (1-0-1) and Mike May (1-0-1) generated the best chances. the Doc just missed tying the game. when I said it cudda been worse I am referring to the play of our goaltender. Adam Lanes (I wont even mention his GAA) was stellar at times. he turned away chance after chance...and they had alotta em. we had our chances too, Eddie Murphy (1-0-1), not the comedian, had a goal today and wudda had another. he rang one off the post as did Rosati and Stevie Hay (0-2-2). Jimmy DeVito potted one on a nifty play by Richie Poole. Poole, very slowly, and I dont know how, skated around the defense and put a pass in front that DeVito was able to poke passed the goalie. I had one of my worse games (and there have been plenty of those) I felt light the Gashouse Gorillas trying to hit Bugs Bunnys super slow ball...one-two-three strikes your out it was like having John Rogan back on the ice with us. (you know I love you) anyway we had our game next week cancelled so Ill try to fill next weeks post with some other fodder. see you on the ice
