15. You’ve got thick skin. From a young age, you’re taught to hold your own, stand up for yourself and ignore all the hate that a lot of other people seem to feel toward this proud city. It’s subtly engrained in you that you are not going to be the type of person who takes shit from anyone. It’s a rough town, but it’s also the city of brotherly love. Mayor Nutter once said, “Philadelphians are a gritty, tough people who will help you when you’re down,” and we know that to be true.
