A fantastic net of 44lbs of quality crucians and skimmers together with a further 20lb of quality carp went to make up Malc Swindels winning weight of 64lb 9oz in todays Thursday open match held on Far Hope. Malc fished the pole on peg 8 at 5 metres and close in the margins to land fish all day on his usual tactics of soft pellet over hemp and micros. In second place fishing from peg 10 was Pete Clements with 49lb 3oz. Pete like Malc had quality carp with quality crucians and bream on the pole on the corn and pellet as well as a few carp on the tip to the island. In third place with 35lb of quality carp was Ron. Ron fished peg 18 catching carp to 7 lbs close in using half a worm on the hook. Catches of fish other than carp like todays are very encouraging just going to prove that the silvers men can confidently take on the carp matchmen .
