Another update guys and especially for you John Buchanan, as you enquired earlier today about the Fredster. Freddie seems fine atm, the urine test was clear of crystals but he does have urinary tract cystitis which is supposedly caused by stress, so 6-8 wks of Metacam. Yesterday I felt confused and useless, didnt sleep much last night. The house is littered with helpful pamphlets about Feliway diffusers, happy catnip toys and special diets for stressed cats. Make sure he has lots of fluids, lots of cuddles, lots of stroking, somewhere he can call his bed, somewhere he can hide away from anything which may upset him . . . yadda yadda. Today Im thinking ~ weve had two dogs, one a stray who chose to stay, one a traumatised rescue dog who sat in corners and stared at the wall. They were/are both lovely, happy well behaved boys (we still have the rescue). Tabby Tiger has been with us 12 yrs, fatty Busters done 5 yrs, so why am I worrying about not doing the right things for Freddie? Were assuming the stress to be caused by his injuries when we found him, then his fractured leg and confinement and now several trips to that place where they squeeze his wee out and stick needles in him! For 11 months old, hes had a helluva time. Fingers crossed we can resolve this by treating him normally; it seems to work for the other inmates! This is yesterdays pic, camod against the table cover.
