Are our schools teaching us about this famous Barbadian lady who attended the Vauxhall Primary School? I went to 6 schools in this island and never heard ONE word about her - or the fact that she was the FIRST black woman in the United States Congress (and in 1971 a nominee for the Presidency)! Once again poroving true that old saying that Barbados has been punching above its weight in the International arena for almost 400 years.
