Bring the kids tomorrow to the Thomas Conner House! BT will unveil the winners of the Wheels and Wagons coloring contest and will have small gifts and balloons for all the kids! On Friday, July 12, the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation will present ParaNorman (PG) on the Lawn of the Thomas Conner House on the corner of Draper Road and Wall Street. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair and come join in the fun as the Indian Run String Band plays before the movie from 7-8:30 pm. As an addition to the evening festivities, the Town of Blacksburg will present the winners of the 2013 Wheels and Wagons children’s drawing contest on Draper Road in front of the Black House. Eighty-four contestants in four age groups completed drawings at the event held at First and Main on May 11. All 84 entries were transferred to the sides of a Blacksburg Transit bus with the winning artwork of each age group placed on the rear of the bus. Town officials will unveil the four winning entries on the bus at 7:45 pm. Artists are encouraged to get their picture taken next to their artwork and take a tour of the bus. Children will also receive a small gift and balloon. After the unveiling, stick around for the Indian Run String Band and ParaNorman. Popcorn and admission are free. Movie goers are encouraged to come early, bring blankets and chairs, and make an evening of it in downtown Blacksburg. In the event of rain, the movie and bus unveiling will be rescheduled to the next day, Saturday, July 13, at the same time.
