Dear Freshmen, Welcome to the NUS Nursing Family! Every year, on the 1st August, the nation formally celebrates Nurses Day to recognize and honour the contributions and sacrifices made by Singapores nurses. In the spirit of the occasion, ALCNS will be hosting its eighth annual Conventus, a significant event where the NUS Nursing community gathers to commemorate the contributions nurses have made to the society. Just as the saying goes, ‘Honouring the old, making way for the new’, we will be bidding farewell to our 6th batch of graduating seniors who will be embarking into the working world as registered nurses, and welcome the new batch of passionate and determined undergraduates. In addition, we are inviting leaders and members of the nursing and other healthcare professions from the various institutions to celebrate this special event with us. We as students of ALCNS form a fundamental component in enriching the institution. As freshmen, you will be a part of our vibrant, compassionate and passionate community. Being ALCNS’s very own ambassadors, we not only work hard and play hard, but we also learn how not to give up even in challenging situations. Therefore, we extend our cordial invitation to you to celebrate this special day with us, to witness the growth of this institution that you will help further develop. This year, the event is themed Nursing Broadway, and following are the details of Conventus VIII. Date: 30th July 2014 (Wed) Time: 1000h to 1300h Venue: Block MD6, Lt 35 10 Medical Drive, Centre of Translational Medicine National University of Singapore *Light refreshments will be provided during the interval and at the end of the celebration.
