Emily Silva, Im having trouble tagging people, I hope you can see this. The big idea, part 2 Everyone would have a job (or be a stay at home parent, or college student). This would happen by running the city similar to a corporation. When people moved there, theyd have to show employment elsewhere and/or be coming to fill a position in the city, or be the domestic partner(s)-- poly should be legal, too-- of someone who was employed, or a graduate. Some of the jobs would be unskilled labor-- cleaning the streets, repair work, paperwork, etc. so it seems doable to require everyone who lives there to be doing something of value to the city. A big part of the idea is to start this where you can generate income in the form of some kind of resource thats already there-- a mine, or farmland, something that the city can do locally, developing into something that can be sold elsewhere, preferably something it would get a reputation for. It could be organic products, or solar-generated power thats sold to other cities, or the unique jewelry. It could be a city renowned for its artisans, or its engineers.
