Excerpts : “...someone can change what they eat more easily than trying to cut down on their calories.” And “While the low-fat group did lose weight, they appeared to lose more muscle than fat. They actually lost lean muscle mass, which is a bad thing.” And “The average person may not pay much attention to the federal dietary guidelines, but their influence can be seen, for example, in school lunch programs, which is why many schools forbid whole milk but serve their students fat-free chocolate milk loaded with sugar, Dr. Mozaffarian said.” In less than a year of cutting carbs, my BP is lower than it was on three BP meds. Most of my new practice has come from Joseph Mercola D.O. Wow, did any of these poor saps in the low-fat group die? Were they monitored? I think this is Nazi style experimentation because there existed plenty of evidence that the federal guidelines were dead wrong. Why not just do a comparison study with folks self selecting their diets? (just a rhetorical question)
