I love to deer hunt as much as anyone! I love to play sports, and coach sports as much as anyone. I love spending time with family and friends, doing whatever recreation, as much as anyone. There was a time in my life, I put all these things before God. The Bible says that he is a jealous God, and we must put him first. Many people will miss church today, because of one or more of these things, thats putting self first before God. I will not miss church this morning for any of these thing! Why? Because I love God more than anything, or anybody, and church is awesome! If you call yourself a Christian, you are saying that someday you will be in Heaven, so right now your citizenship is not here on earth, its in Heaven, and you are just here for a visit. But nothing bad will enter into Heaven, so you are saying that you are good, so you in no way would miss church this morning, thats great! Philippians 3:18-20 NLT [18] For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. [19] They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. [20] But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. If Jesus comes back today, will he find you at church, or somewhere else?
