ILLNESS (11 A.H.) Rasulullah (s.a.w) Two months after his return from Haj, became ill. Just before his illness he visited Uhud where many Muslim Soldiers are buried. He also visited Jannatul- Baqi (cemetery of Madina) and prayed for the dead. He stayed at Ayeshas (RA) House during his illness. Abu Bakr (RA) was appointed the Imam to lead the prayers. The illnesr lasted for about two weeks. DEATH AND BURIAL. On the 12th Rabiul-Awwal, Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.w) breathed his last. Every soul shall taste of death (Quran 3:185). The people at first refused to believe that Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.w) had passed away. The Holy Body was given ghusal and kafan. People read the Janaza salaat in groups. There after Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.w) was lowered into a grave exactly below the spot where he passed away. (Quran 3:144) Muhammad is no more than a Messenger, many were the Messengers that passed away before. Was born on Monday 12 Rabiul-Awwal 570 and died on the 12th Rabiul-Awwal on Monday.
