IM BACK!! From a FB post by Jeannie Metcalf. She sums my feelings up to the T!!! Hi folks. Im one of those folks born and bred a democrat until I could bare the shame no more. Got that D changed to an R in the late 80s. I started listening to Rush when his show started running 12-3 on WSJS in Winston Salem. I was like a newly wed. So excited to be in a party with people who valued life, honored the constitution, and wanted to let me keep a fair share of my familys hard-earned money. I became an activist, eventually running for school board. Ive served for 20 years and Im running for my sixth term. But along the way, IMHO only, I think the leadership of the GOP lost its way. It lost the zeal to protect life, became vulnerable to the constant media calls for compromise (which of course means always giving in to democrats), and lessening their strong support for all thing constitutional. As much as I loved George w., he gave us No Child Left Behind, the precursor to Common Core, which, if not repealed, will destroy our educational system, much like Obamacare has destroyed what was once the worlds best medical system. (Thank you, John Roberts). Taxes starting rising, men and woman of true convictions and the courage to stand firm to support conservative principles became fewer and fewer, replaced by RINOS seeking power. Then, along came the Tea Party to the rescue. How refreshing to again be talking about conservative issues, with pride and courage. My GOP self quickly engaged with these freedom-loving souls. I felt right at home at rallies, waving the American flag, singing God bless America! Proudly calling myself Tea Party. I saw the Tea Party as the salvation of the GOP. I still do. But this senate campaign has let me see that this freedom loving group is dangerously close to imploding. Its natural to like different candidates. I do as well within GOP. I like several potential GOP presidential candidates. But this name-calling and divisiveness needs to stop. And one thing you all need to realize whether you like it or not; there are two viable parties in this country, democrats and republicans. When you leave one for a third party vote, to make a statement or just because your man/woman didnt win, it is a vote for the other party. The mislead people who set off to utopia behind Ross Perot, gave us eight years of Bill Clinton, which has spawned Hillary, who is the author, along with jim hunt, funded by gates, all resulting in Common Core. Votes have consequences. We have Clintons Supreme Court justices until they die, or until we lose the House in 2014, and Obama get the entire government to run roughshod over and all old lib justices retire and he replaces them with young, constitutional activists. Do yall want that? Everyone republican in this fight is a better candidate than Kay Hagan. Lets keep our eyes on the prize. Work hard, civilly for your candidate but then we must all get behind whichever candidate wins to defeat her in the fall. Im asking all the candidates to pledge to support the eventual winner, as well as all you tea partiers out there. I am so thankful to you for forcing the GOP to remember its roots. Lets work together to take our country back!
