Im currently co-facilitating a class where I work. These classes are Leadership classes for the growth and development of our employees at the plant. The material comes from John Maxwell and the book is entitled, The 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership. The class this week was on Chapter 5 entitled, The Law Of Addition. Maxwell reflects on the COSCO CEO and states, When it comes down to it, Sinegal is more focused on adding value to people by serving them than on serving himself or making himself richer with an exorbitant salary. The bottom line in leadership isnt how far we advance ourselves but how far we advance others. At the end of the day its about our Character and how we treat others; I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me. Sound familiar? Maxwell further states, That the standard for my conduct influences everything I do, not just including my leadership, but especially my leadership. The book was released first in 1998 and again in 2007. Now in 2014, The Huffington Post released this article, COSCO is on the list. Please note the companies that are both Exceeding and Adding Value to their employees, a key to their companies success. Hows your company stack up? Just Thoughts,,,,,,,
