Just want to thank everyone for their prayers! Had my last test on my heart today and there is no damage to my heart! Thank GOD!!! The last 3 days have been very hard! I now know why so many people end up dying in the hospital! If youre not real sick when you go in, youre really sick when you come out! lol! I had severe chest pains that went up to my left arm and around to my back from the left side of my chest! They were trying to decide between it being my heart or if I was having another pulmonary emboli! While in the ER, they took blood, put in an IV, sent me to have CT Scan on my lungs with contrast! Years ago, I had 2 different episodes of blood clots in my lungs. With each one, the symptoms were different! With the first one I had pain in my chest that would drop me to the floor! With the second one, I had to cough just to get air into my lungs so its really hard to know if that is whats going on or not because usually symptoms are not always alike plus from what I understand, everyone has different symptoms with it! Like I said the other day, I was on Coumadin for around 12 years and for those years, I had to go get pro times ( blood drawn) 1X every week. With all the needles going in my veins, it built up quite a bit of scar tissue in my veins. After all of that, Im considered a Hard Stick because of the scar tissue! They put an IV in my arm and then took me to have a CT scan on my lungs with contrast! When the nurse put the IV in, I told the nurse it wasnt a good one but she refused to believe me! ( I believe everyone knows their own body and symptoms much better than some little nurse who doesnt even know you )! So as they were putting the contrast in my IV, it didnt go through the vein it was going into the tissue around the IV! It is very painful plus it feels like someone is trying to saw your arm off! When I started screaming the tech stopped the contrast immediately and told me she was going to call my nurse in and the tech told me when she came in to tell her I needed a different IV started! She came in, I told her what happened and she got really smart mouthed and told me there wasnt anything wrong with the one she put in! Then the tech told her it was bad so she proceeded to put in a new one in my left arm with a very bad attitude! ( I dont tolerate, basically being told I dont know what Im talking about with the medical knowledge of my body, very well!) Anyway, I finally got my scan done! The scan didnt show anything wrong but the ER Dr wanted to admit me and get a chemical MRI. They admitted me and I was in the cardiac ICU unit! They werent going to do the test until the following day so from Friday evening till after the MRI, I hadnt eaten anything plus they gave me meds to sleep that night but I wasnt able to! They gave me this test once back in 1998 and they werent able to see all of my heart because of some of my surgeries! This I told them, but guess what? They went ahead and scheduled it anyway! They then did the test the next day and guess what? It didnt work, just as I had told them! So they scheduled me for a chemical ultra sound for the following day so they could get a better look at the heart! All this time I had had nothing to eat plus no sleep! I still was hurting terribly! While in ICU the nurses tried to put in another IV in the first arm! Guess what? Ended up with four blown veins and no IV! The charge nurse then decided to have the pick team come up to put in a pick line because you arent allowed to put a heparin drip with a nitro drip through the same IV! While they were waiting for those techs to come in, the Dr came by and the charge nurse explained to him why I didnt have the nitro drip on and he explained the situation about bringing in the team to put a pick line in! After the Dr came in and checked me over, he saw how bad my right arm was from them trying to get the IV in. My unit was right in front of the nurses station and when he went back out, I could hear him tell the charge nurse to cancel the Nitro drip because so far all my heart tests they gave me looked good and he didnt want to subject me to anymore pain! That was when I told everyone their prayers for me were already working! About 5:00 that evening they transferred me to a private room on the cardiac floor where they could monitor me just as well without all the restrictions of the ICU. They scheduled the chemical ultrasound for the next day! So since that was scheduled I was still on a no eating or drinking order! Praise GOD, I slept very well that night for the first time since I woke up a 5:00 am Saturday morning! They did the test this morning and it turned out fine! The cardiac Dr talked to my Dr extensively this morning and they decided to add 2 different meds for me to take and they came with the conclusion everything I had going on was caused by my Fibro! My pain was so great while in the hospital they gave me Delauded shots through my one IV plus shots for nausea the same way! They cant give me morphine because its like water and doesnt do anything! I am feeling so much better today because even though they had to chemically speed up my heart, it was done slowly so they could get pictures from different heart rates rather than speeding up my heart all at once as they did with the test on the day before! Anyway I wanted to THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR PRAYERS! Sorry this is so long! While in the hospital I lost my voice and when the Dr came in and I was trying to talk to him he wanted to know why I had lost my voice. I told him it got that way while being there so he checked out my throat and said it was from a lot of sinus drainage which I told him at home I take two benedryl in the morning and again at night and the nurses werent letting me have them while I was there. He told me to get back on them when I got home and he also gave me a prescription for a nasal spray. I have to follow up with my Dr next Monday. My Dr is a very wonderful man! He is so highly intelligent plus he is a member of James River Assembly of God and teaches classes there also! He doesnt make his hospital rounds anymore because the other Dr in the same office as he, moved so he is very busy now but he still is on call every other weekend at the hospital and he is the one that assigns the hospitalists and he knew I was there and as always he makes sure if we have to see a specialist he sends us to the very best! This just happened to be his weekend! I dont believe any of this was luck, it was from the hand of GOD that everything worked the way it did! Again, I appreciate all of your prayers! My Thanks To You All! Please whatever you do, Dont Doubt the Power of Prayer! Love to you all!!! A J!
