Man Arrested for Breaking into a Motor Vehicle on Pleasant Street Worcester, MA (May 15, 2014) - On Thursday, May 14, 2014 at approximately 8:38 PM, Worcester Police responded to the area of 193 Pleasant Street for a report of a male attempting to steal a motor vehicle. Arriving officers noticed a vehicle alarm sounding. The vehicle, a 2010 Volkswagen Passat, was located in the rear parking lot of 193 Pleasant Street. Officers observed a male inside the Volkswagen as the alarm was sounding. The male, identified as David Bell, 30-years-old of 36 Shelby Street, Worcester, observed the officers approaching and attempted to flee. Mr. Bell was secured and placed under arrest. Police noticed that the inside of the vehicle had been gone through. The glove box was open and contents within the vehicle were strewn about. Witnesses informed the officers that they observed the male enter the vehicle. The vehicle owner is known to the witness and knew that Mr. Bell had no legitimate reason for being inside the vehicle. The witness could also see Mr. Bell going through the vehicles compartments. Mr. Bell was seen in the driver’s seat when the alarm began to sound. Mr. Bell continued to search the vehicle until police arrived. When questioned by police, Mr. Bell became verbally abusive towards the officers. Mr. Bell was placed under arrest and charged with Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle in the Nighttime with the Intent to Commit a Felony. Mr. Bell was arraigned today at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
