Many of you may remember that, a few months back, I was stirring up support to acquire two good-condition percussion kits for the elementary school drummers in and around the town of Bassett, Nebraska. A bit of an update on that: SO many generous people messaged me, offering to pitch in and help make this goal of mine a reality for these kiddos. In the midst of my planning to make this all happen, the awesome Andrew Johnson dropped a line from Mikes Music and Sound in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, offering to donate and ship not one, not two, but FOUR percussion kits to the Rock County school district! Teacher Christa Holmberg just sent me this video of some of her band students, who wanted to send a little Thank You for the awesome gifts. I, too, cannot thank Andrew and Mikes enough for helping me to contribute to the future of these young percussionists. Huge appreciation also goes out to everyone who had initially connected and shown support. You all are the best!
