Morning Prayer Friday 29th August 2014r Intention: We may all, like John the Baptist, come to know humbleness In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen Good Morning group! Let us start this new day, thanking God for the graces He has granted us. Credo in Spiritum Sanctum, sanctam Ecclesiam catholicam, sanctorum communionem, remissionem peccatorum, carnis resurrectionem, vitam aeternam. Amen. Short Reading Tobit 4:14-15,16,19 Be careful, my child, in all you do, well-disciplined in all your behaviour. Do to no one what you would not want done to you. Give your bread to those who are hungry, and your clothes to those who are naked. Whatever you own in plenty, devote a proportion to almsgiving. Bless the Lord God in everything; beg him to guide your ways and bring your paths and purposes to their end. The word of the Lord My God, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary I offer Thee the Precious Blood of Jesus from all the altars throughout the world, joining with it the offering of my every thought, action and suffering of this day. O my Jesus, I desire today and every day of my life to gain every indulgence and merit I can, and offer them together with myself, to Mary Immaculate, that She may best apply them to the interests of Thy most Sacred Heart Let us make our prayer to Christ who sent John before him to prepare his way: R. Lord, prepare us for your coming. John leaped in the womb of Elizabeth as she met your mother: Lord, make us always glad to welcome your coming. R. Lord, prepare us for your coming. John showed in his life what he preached by his words: give us the courage to practise what we preach. R. Lord, prepare us for your coming. John baptised you in the Jordan and the Spirit of justice rested upon you: help us, Lord, to work for a world of justice. R. Lord, prepare us for your coming. Lord, you called men to preach your word: send heralds to carry the gospel to the world. R. Lord, prepare us for your coming Pater Noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Let us Pray: God our Father, you appointed St John the Baptist to be the herald of the birth and death of Christ your Son. Grant that as he died a martyr for justice and truth, so we also may courageously bear witness to your word. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Salve, Regína, mater misericórdiæ; vita, dulcédo et spes nostra, salve. Ad te clamámus, éxsules, filii Evæ. Ad te suspirámus, geméntes et flentes in hac lacrimárum valle. Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us; and after this exile show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life. Niech będzie pochwalony Jezus Chrystus
