My experience with this topic is that Ive known people who were into it. Ive never been a sadist or a masochist myself, so it takes empathy on my part to relate with a lot of the concepts in this song. I definitely relate with the opening up the door to day light concept, because I generally feel somewhat dismal about it; even with my natural determined vigor and restless mind. I definitely have a point at which Id just go off on someone coldly and highly effectively when it comes to having a relationship that incorporated the facets of this topic. It has a significant effect on what loving is like in my relationship and I can incorporate it into the relationship and be happy with it, even if we did enjoy switching things up. Id definitely feel like I wouldnt want to turn some healthy, beautiful skin a different color, for instance; which sounds more like a Sweet Escape to me.
