On 4 October 2013 the jury convicted Zinkevicius (pictured right) of murder. He will be sentenced on 11 October. Detective Chris Jones from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said: Giedruis Zinkeviucius is an extremely violent individual whose brutal actions prematurely ended the life of Egidijus Cepulionis. Having severely beaten Egidijus, the defendant demonstrated a complete lack of humanity by throwing him unconscious from his flat into snow and freezing temperatures where he succumbed to his injuries. The verdict reflects the total disregard Zinkeviucius for the life of another. I would like to pay tribute to the victims family, particularly his brother who has attended the trial acting with dignity when faced with harrowing details of his brothers death.
