Pacific NorthWest (PNW) LNG, pincipally owned by Malaysian company Petronas, has prepared an Environmental Impact Statement that is 3,001 pages long and gave us 30 days to review it. It included their plans to dredge up 7.7 million cubic m of sediment, the equivalent of filling 2424 hocky rinks 6 ft deep of sediment. It did not include any data collected by PNW on salmon. Despite the absence of data on economically important fishes, their report concluded, There is a low likelihood of an adverse residual effect on fish habitat, a conclusion made with high confidence. We call bullshit.
