So I walk into the Burger King at Nordhoff and Corbin. I dont - TopicsExpress

So I walk into the Burger King at Nordhoff and Corbin. I dont often eat fast food, but the Burger King Whopper is an occasional treat. Theres nobody else in the store except two people sitting at a table. Theres no one in line. I walk up to the counter and after a moment, a person on the other side (I will not identify gender or ethnicity) wearing a microphone walks up. I say, Ill have a number one. The person looks at me, enters it into the computer -- then, instead of taking my money and calling in the order, walks away to another computer, the one connected to the drive-thru and takes that persons order first. Obviously, the person in the drive-thru was more important than me. So I walked out and ate at the Hawaiian BBQ instead. I wont be disrespected that way. So Burger King loses twice -- they dont get a customer, their competition does. Actually, they lose more than that, because Ill never go back to that store. (We actually have a closer Burger King, in case I ever again get the urge.) Whats wrong with fast food service is the failure to train the people in customer service. A simple, Ill be with you in a moment to either me or the guy in the drive-thru would have demonstrated that the order person saw me as an actual human being, not just a thing on the other side of the counter. Perhaps I should have waited until the person returned and said, Cancel the order. If the guy in the drive-thru is more important than finishing this transaction, I dont want it anymore. Whatever. Anyone from Burger King who sees this -- its time to work on your training programs again.
