St. Jude Family - Many of you may have heard that one of our beloved nurses passed away last night in a tragic car accident in Memphis. Joshua (Josh) Bichelman worked night shift (2nd floor SW) when he arrived at St. Jude in late 11/early 12 and was promoted to day shift. Just recently, he was awarded the position of Nurse Coordinator for the Bone Marrow Transplant floor. Josh leaves behind a little boy, Ari, who is about five years old (I remember that he was close to Carters age) and a wife. He was just 33 years old. The nurses of St. Jude are gathering letters for Ari and Joshs wife to help convey their love of and for him. We have been asked to contribute letters, too. If you knew Josh and have a story youd like to share with his wife or son, I would encourage you to do so. Please contact me here on FB and I will give you a direct email where you can send your note. I have been in shock all day. I remember some of Joshs first nights at St. Jude when Carter was in-patient and then again when we were back after Carters tumor had grown. I know that I saw him on one of my return visits, but I cant remember which one......but Josh always had a smile on his face and a giggle in his pocket. I put the nurses at St. Jude up there with Super Man and Wonder Woman.....theyre invincible and carried me through some of the worst moments of my life. Its hard to acknowledge that they, too, are susceptible to tragedy. Please take a moment to lift this family up in prayer and to pray for Joshs co-workers at St. Jude. They are all in shock and mourning the loss of a great friend, nurse, and colleague. ((HUGS!!)) Sarah
