TWO YEARS BUT STILL FRESH IN OUR MEMORIES: REST ON FATHER This day, two years ago, the clouds were dark and the atmosphere solemn, as our father, the great political titan of Kwara state, the former Senate leader, political icon in Nigeria and trans-generational philanthropist, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki passed on to the world beyond. The impact of babas life translates beyond his immediate environment and families; his life had and still having rich impact on people in various parts of Nigeria and beyond, using philanthropy as an instrument of transforming destinies for the better, a legacy initiated, established and sustained by those he left behind. Even though the passing away of Oloye brought sorrow to our hearts, these are our lasting consolations- that he lived a good life crowded with activities modeled to impact lives irrespective of cultural or religious difference; that he is resting with Almighty Allah in Aljanah. As we remember Baba today- a patriarch of high value, it is important to uphold the fundamental characters that embodied the personality of the political titan. Oloyes life was characterized by expression of love to humanity, unending and boundless welfarism for the society, raw thirst for progress, peace and stability, and the fear of the Almighty Allah. I urge us to emulate such standards as measures to ameliorate Nigeria, particularly at this period of daunting challenges. Two years in our heart!
