I now think OPEC are setting out to show who is really rulin and running a loss leader with thin margins of profit to smash the belief with alternative energy sources such as shale gas and renewables we are able to remove the reliance on OPEC But they are likely to confirm as prices drop further and North Sea oil wells close whilst high extraction costs cannot cover the lack of profit that we remain dependant on OPEC maintaining high oil costs to cover the production costs and leave a profit. In the meantime the biggest OPEC casualty will be Venezuela whose ideological driven country is under pinned by making oil revenue.
