The future of poker runs in Illinois looks better after the Illinois House of Representatives passed House Bill 4223 April 2 to change some regulations. The bill provides for the regulation of poker runs as raffles rather than as charitable game events. It also states, that poker runs would be licensed by the county or municipality based on the location where the key event is occurring with jurisdiction covering the entire poker run. The bill had its first reading in the Senate April 3, and has been referred to a committee for review. For more information on how the bill would change regulations, see this weeks County Journal.
