There are unconfirmed reports circulating that there was a near fatal accident at Nadzab airport involving a Dash-8 aircraft sometime last week (Thursday or Friday). Its not clear if it was actually an accident or a Near Miss, but what Im hearing is the accident couldve resulted in a lot of lives being lost. What baffles me as a concerned citizen is why PNG isnt aware of it yet, Or if the authorities are aware of it & are actually carrying out investigations to establish what actually went wrong. As a country we have to take near misses involving aircraft very seriously by thoroughly investigating & reporting the findings so that similar incidents or serious accidents are avoided. Its better to be proactive & preventing the unnecessary loss of lives than to be regretful & wasting our time & resources on investigating aircraft accidents after lives have been lost.
