This could be a very big deal. We need some thorough analysis on this one from the Oil Drum folks (please help, Gail!). If this report is anywhere near accurate, then history’s course is set and the human race will party on until the lights go out for good. Fracking will become the norm until those resources peak and decline. It would also guarantee that we have no brakes on global warming, setting that course as well (anything over 1% methane leakage from fracked wells and all global warming benefits of natural gas over burning coal disappear, as just one example of why). It doesn’t mean collapse won’t happen, it would just change the tipping points from energy depletion to the environment degradation issues. And fresh water, food, etc., all varied by location. We need to know if there is any merit to this study or if it amounts to industry propaganda. Any brainiacs have some free time out there? - Wes
