This is a letter I sent to the Sun today regarding swearing in a public house and it being to strict.... The article is on page 4 Dear Andy. Look come on matey, what is wrong with the Landlord and Landlady making a rule about swearing in the public house.... I have owned my public house for 25 years I am 46 years old which made me the youngest freehold publican in England back in the day. Point is, I hold the same values to my house. I do not except swearing in the bar, the f word no way..... and the c word !!! well thats a barred person walking out the door. I do not allow baseball caps on in the bar for starters its a security risk for the bar staff, and the cameras cant pick out the face if covered. jogging bottoms and hoodies are a definite no no at week ends I tell all the youngsters they should make an effort to dress up not down on a weekend .... And you no what they now all agree..... They feel better about themselves they also act more grown up too... now that my friend is moving towards responsible drinking. They show more respect to me and others. I draw the line with football shirts as I am a sporty pub but in the evening I dont at weekends condone it, and will say they look scruffy.... again its about appearances and most after football go home and change. Also there are more children and women in bar and restaurants this day and age, And it is not right that they should be subjected to swearing from some idiot while in the bar or restaurant themselves....... it is not the kind of thing a child should here, it is not setting a good example to them. This is not about being miserable..... Its about (VALUES) And Im afraid many pubs are losing that image, As some where that people meet for all occasions be it food or drink ,darts, pool , poker etc. etc. we must hold up the values of this iconic meeting place, and keep it going in the posthumous way that it is. YES I AM THE REAL PUB LANDLORD....... AND YOU HAVE BEEN SREVED. DAVID GREEN FBII
