When I read Good Catholic Books, I often pity myself for the Little I understand of this Church and her Long Tradition. This Book that I am Currently Reading by this Wonderful Benedictine Monk Anselm Grün on the Seven Sacrament Is just Beautiful and a great challage. He traces the Historical Origin, development and Dynamics of Each Sacrament. I thought that I knew enough about the Sacraments but this one tells me the Contrally. Long ago, The Philosopher Cicero said that he Fears(read hates) a man of one Book.In My Philosophy Days I remember Our dean, The Professor, tell us that just like Stagnant water goes bad or abadorned Iron rusts, so also the Mind that does not Study. Yesterday I saw My Cousin Eng. Wilson Waweru update on his Wall that once the Mind is stretched by a great Idea never returns to its original Form. The Professor would tell us that we should never allow ourselves break our piece of Chalk before we write our names on the great Map of the Globe. One intersting thing that I have learnt Concerning the Sacrament of Confirmation is the light tap on the Cheek. I still can remember Fr Francis Gerald Mathenge effect it on me on the 28/4/1991 as though it was Yesterday. Though many interpretations of this sign are given, I Find it very interesting as he says. John Kiariî, AA , Should read this.... This sign originates from an ancient legal Custom. When carrying out a legal Act like transfering a boundary-stone, I was common to take along boys on the Spot and beat them thoroughly(Kichapo cha mbwa). The reason for this serious beating was to make sure that years later they would still remember the spot where the boundary-stone originary lay and would testify later........... If you listen to many teachers of faith explain the meaning of this you will cover your ears... Some of the acceptable explanations would be like...That the Candidate has begun War../Spiritual...that the Candidate recall he received the Holy Spirit forcifully....Nikiandika yote hapa utasoma nini ukinunua kitabu chako? This request to teach our fellow Christians has taught me a lot as I reseach to be Convinced before I seek to Convince, Understand before I Seek to be Understood.... One of the things I fear and hate with Passion Is to teach what I am not Sure of or am not convinced myself. Those who have sat to listen me teach can attest to this..... Am surprised that there are still so many books awaiting me to be read....I pity my vincible Ignorance....Signore Pieta
