ok....I know that school is very important and that every child needs to put forth every effort into making good grades, but this evenings tenth grade orientation was very ridiculous. Note: I appreciate every teacher and school staff: Here is how tonights orientation went, which we thought was mandatory....#1 we walk to the auditorium, there is a table stacked with handout sheets stating the rules, typical same stuff like every year. Dress code, rules on cell phones, lunches, ect. Okay, then a few staff members tell you to take a seat into the auditorium for the orientation presentation. A school staff member proceeds to speak on non irrelevant matters. Then on a big screen shows the same thing that is in each students handout. Then it is read to them as if they do not know how to read it themselves. An hour later, be de be, uh..thats all folks! Then the kiddos go home! What a waste of time, paper and breath! I wish they would had saved the poor trees if it was just gonna be read to them for a solid hour, like they dont know this stuff already. Its pretty simple. Dress accordingly, report to school on time, eat lunch at your scheduled time, no cell phones in the classrooms, and no holes in your jeans!!!!!!!!! Seriously, if these kids cant read these three pages of same ole same old rules for themselves, they for sure dont need to be in high school. And I guarantee it will be the same this year, the school came up with a great idea not to send homework home anymore, but to keep it within the classroom, that way the parents are dumb clueless fools not knowing what their child is studying....makes sense, huh. Really, if I am missing something please let me know because my time is precious, My husband and I both work full time jobs and taking care of our one year old and teenager, we dont have time for something that was a waste of time. They could had sent that paperwork home when they went last week for registration and let the parents and children read it together. I really feel like the school system feels like some of us have no common sense! Well, this girl does and I know a waste of time when I endure it. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! And this year I better have more knowledge on what my son is studying. When I was in high school, my backpack weighed more than me with books and homework for every night of the week. Guess now its all on computer which is great, less work for some people but stressful to the parents who have no clue what their kid is studying. Thank you Warren County High School for caring and really stressing about them darn holes in the pants. I am sure that tiny hole in my sons jeans below his knee will offend the entire school . God bless and may 2014-2015 School year be a success...may the odds always be in your favor.
