Indian space agency ISRO will be conferred the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2014 in recognition of its contribution in strengthening international cooperation in peaceful use of outer space.The award jury, chaired by Vice President Hamid Ansari, made the announcement. 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured a visa on arrival facility for Australian tourists and announced a two-month deadline for the long-pending merger of OCI and PIO status to woo the Indian diaspora from whom he sought support for his ambitious Clean India campaign. 3. An American teenager has won a prestigious international prize for her charitable work to help orphans in India and other vulnerable children. Neha Gupta, an 18-year-old of Indian descent from Philadelphia, was awarded the International Children’s Peace Prize on Tuesday by Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu at a ceremony in The Hague. 4. The 3rd Science and Technology Joint Commission meeting between India and USA was held on November 17, 2014 in New Delhi. The JCM was co-Chaired by Shri YS Chowdary Minister of State for Science & Technology, Government of India and Dr. John Holdren, Director, White House Office of Science & Technology Policy and the Science Adviser to the U.S. President. 5. Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan met President of Turkmenistan Mr Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov today in Ashgabat. The President warmly welcomed the Minister. He expressed commitment of Turkmenistan for strong and friendly ties with India and mentioned that two countries need to develop strategic partnership.
