------#1219------ I dont understand the mentality and blatant hypocrisy of the guard who sits outside the main library gates. Despite all my protestations and assurances that my drink will be consumed on the third floor where eating and drinking is permitted (and in the best cantonese I could muster), she, in her sickly polite and quiet manner, would refuse all attempts at coming to a reasonable and rational solution, forcing me to go outside and gulp down my lovely hot drink in a manner unbefitting its refreshing nature. If cups with perfectly secure lids arent allowed in this eating/drinking area, then why are vending machines allowed to sell cans with unresealable tabs and drink cartons with straws? Why even allow this system in the first place if they wont let people make use of it?
