--Neither slumber nor sleep overcomes Him. (Quran 2:255)-- In one beautiful ayat from ayat al-kursi (the verse of the throne), we find this beautiful story. Once Musa (may peace be upon him) was asked by a man from the tribe of Israel: Does Allah sleep? Musa (may peace be upon him)) was given the answer through two angels. They came to him and told him, Tonight we want you not to sleep, but to hold these two glass bottles throughout the night. So Musa (may peace be upon him), after a long day of work and giving dawah, stood up in the night holding these two bottles that were given to him. The first third of the night passes by and he stays firm, barely losing any concentration. The second third of the night passes, and he finds himself dozing off but catching himself before falling asleep. And finally the last part of the night comes, and he loses himself and cannot stand up anymore. So he gets exhausted and the two bottles slip from his hand and shatter. The angels come to Musa (may peace be upon him) and say: Oh Musa! If Allah would sleep, the heavens and the earth would fall down and shatter like these two bottles did. Allahu Akbar!! We get so tired after a long day of that out body cannot take us to face our Creator. How can we not? We give up so easily. How can we? We delay standing in from of Him? How and why? Allah is waiting for us, He never gives up on us, He never gets tired, so How can we? The time in this duniya is for a limited time, Lets prepare for the day that we will meet our Lord. Allah is always there every second of the day. So lets remember Allah every second of the day. O Allah You are sufficient for me and You are all I need. Spread these words so others can benefit and you can earn your rewards.. InshaaAllah. (S*A)
