-- to fear the lord is to stand in awe of him and reverence him .we are not to take him for granted nor treat him flippantly .this includes having a devout relationship with him .you cannot honor and respect one whom you do not know .knowing god personally must be life,s highest priority for the beliver .as we come to know god ,we know his ways and commands therefore ,we can honor his word by obeying it .we demonstrate respect the same way .to fear or reverence the lord is not some intellectual exercise ,but is lived out in our daily lives .
