- A weakening system and cold front sends a band of rain showers eastward through the region today. - Rainfall amounts will be on the light side, generally a quarter of an inch or less in most areas. - All rain showers should end by evening as the system advances off the East Coast. - Mild temperatures prevail ahead of the cold front, but turning sharply colder behind the front. - Cold air passing over the Great Lakes will produce a light amount of Lake-effect snow east and southeast of Lakes Erie and Ontario by Friday morning. - Lake-effect snow could be mixed with rain around the immediate lake shores. - Todays highs will range from the 40s in western new York and Pennsylvania behind the cold front to the low 60s along the East Coast ahead of the cold front. - Highs in the 40s to low 50s across the region Friday. - Staying dry and chilly across the region through the weekend. - A colder shot of air arrives for many areas into early next week.
