--IN SEARCH OF A PATIENT PERSON (or two!)-- Lester and Dharma, both German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mixes, are looking for a kind and patient foster(s) or adopter(s) who will help them come out of their shells. Surrendered by a former owner who had too many dogs and too little time to care for them, Lester, a 1-year-old male, and Dharma, a 1-year-old female, are shy and scared. They have not yet received the socialization and training that dogs need to thrive. Though they are untrained, Lester and Dharma do not have an aggressive bone in their bodies. They enjoy one another and find comfort in the presence of other dogs. For that reason, they could be fostered/adopted together or separately. With a little love, attention and food, these skinny pups could become wonderful canine companions. They will need to learn basic skills like leash walking and housetraining. These pups are not thriving in the shelter environment, and they need individual attention from a caring person to improve. They need someone who will work with them each day to show them about life living in a home environment and who will help gain their trust with humans. Their ideal foster(s) or adopter(s) will have a home with a tall fence or the time to supervise and walk them each day. He/She will have time to spend giving them the attention they need and the patient disposition to be able to work consistently with them on their fears. With time and patience, we are confident Lester and Dharma will make wonderful dogs! If you are that special person these pups are hoping for, stop in to the shelter today or call The Humane Society of Kent County at 410-778-3648 to learn more.
