- Labor inspection was abolished in 2006 and in 2009 - Technical Monitoring Inspection agency. Since then began all the trouble at the workplaces in Georgia. - According to a survey conducted by the MIA: Since 2007, 3 workers die and 5 are seriously injured on average per month in Georgia. - Workplaces at construction, mining and metallurgy industry are on a leading position by the statistic. - Except low labor safety standards, there is the worst situation in terms of labor law of employees. Three messages to the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia: - The reason of all above mentioned is the lack of legal regulations. - Also: Employers constant striving towards making more profits. - Irresponsibility of the government towards the citizens. Three ways out of the given situation: - Quick establishment of Labour Inspection according with the ILO- recommendations. - Labor inspection must act as the Labor safety issues, as well as the direction of labor-legal issues. - Except the monitoring and control Labour inspection should have the right instituting penalty sanctions.
