--Memory screenings are a significant first step toward finding out if you may have a memory problem. Memory problems could be caused by Alzheimers disease or other medical conditions. --A memory screening is not used to diagnose any particular illness and does not replace consultation with a qualified physician or other healthcare professional. However, it is very helpful. A screening can test your memory, language skills, thinking ability, and other intellectual functions. --Seekonk Library has scheduled FREE memory screenings conducted by qualified personnel from the RI Mood & Memory Research Institute on Monday, November 10 from 1 to 3 pm. --Early recognition of mild cognitive impairment (MCI)—mild intellectual loss that may develop into dementia—provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals to treat this condition, and possibly slow the decline in memory and other functions. --So, please, take advantage of this free screening at our Library!
