- Okay, gentlemen. How do we handle this situation? Single guys, you know what Im talking about, Im sure. You meet a great young lady while shes at work and in her professional capacity. Maybe she is a bank teller, or the clerk at the music store. In my most recent travels it was a librarian at Villanova. Shes really friendly. She helps you with what you need, etc. You realize that shes a pretty cool person and you wouldnt mind if you saw her again. You want to say all this stuff: Hey, youre great. Id like to see you more than just this one time. I already enjoy your company. Come have a hot chocolate with me, etc. —But then you dont want to say anything because that seems inappropriate. The lady is at work. Shes doing her job. This isnt socializing time. She doesnt need to be inappropriately propositioned by a stranger for the twelfth time today. Its basically the Office Space asking-out-Jennifer-Aniston scenario. Is that kosher? Maybe some ladies can weigh in. Is it okay to just ask yall out on dates while youre supposed to be working? Do you get that a lot?
