-What is The 1413 List? The 1413 List will be known as the million-dollar list and will be part of Internet History. The idea lies in selling positions on a list of 1413 elements. The lowest position and therefore least outstanding costs one dollar, while the highest position costs 1413 dollars. The value of each position is the same as the order in which it appears on the list. For instance, position 545 costs exactly 545 dollars. Simple, isn’t it? The total addition of the sale of all the positions is 998991 dollars, which is almost a million dollars. My idea is to achieve enough money to be able to set up my own enterprise and finish my architecture studies. Being a student and to be willing to set up your own business is really hard if you don’t have enough money to start with. When buying a position from the list, your image will appear in it, with a size of 30x30. A gaudier image will attract more visitors, but so that there is not much distinction between the different advertisers, the color of the image will only be shown when the slider is over it (this option is not enabled in some web browsers). It is expected that The 1413 List will be part of Internet history and you can be part of it too. -Why 1413 positions? The concept lies in the equation of natural numbers. I needed to find a list of numbers, the consecutive addition of which equualed 1 million. It wasn’t difficult to find that number thanks to Gauss’s equation. (n(n+1))/2 -Why selling positions in a list? Everybody likes lists: The top 100 films in history, the Ten Commandments, the 10 fastest cars…We,as human beings, love lists. There are thousands of lists, but they all have something in common: they make people want to rank as high as possible on them. Why not a list that joined 1413 internet sites? A list that will be part of Internet History. -Who are you? My name is Iván Izquierdo, I’m from Spain and I´m 23 years old. I study Architecture and work on the weekends in a supermarket in order to pay for my studies. I know I wasn´t born to work in a supermarket. I’m always working on ways of making money. I’ve had an enterprise of vinyls for bicycles and three webs. I am now creating a brand of clothes and I need a lot of money so as to be able to start, and I know that I’m not going to become rich working in a supermarket. -Where did this idea come from? The idea came to me while I was watching advertisements on Youtube to find inspiration for my first ad to promote my brand of clothes. I saw one by Mercedes Benz which talked about lists, and I imagined how people want to be in important lists and how is it that the higher you are on it, the more prestige you have. So I imagined a list on the Internet, a list in which everybody would want to be, on which simple people as well as important people could be, and I quickly concluded that, with all this, I could earn enough money to set up my enterprise, pay my studies and even maybe take a short holiday. -Why do you want a million dollars? It’s the golden amount, the magic number. Certainly I don’t need as much money to carry out my projects but nobody would be interested in a webpage that expects to win ten thousand dollars. Great achievements are reached thinking outside the box. I don´t know if I’ll achieve all the money, I may not achieve anything, but dreaming is free and it might be that someday people will recall the list of the million dollars. Who would not want to be on the list of the million dollars? I want to. -How long will the webpage be online? The webpage will be online for at least five years, though it’s almost sure that it will be much more time operating. The launching date of the web is 8/15/2013 until 8/15/2018. -Why should I buy a position on the list? The 1413 list will go down in history as the list of the million dollars. It will be part of what’s known as viral marketing and your website will increase its visits notably. It’s an attractive concept. Furthermore, you can buy your position according to your budget. You could even buy a position for one dollar. It’s a good price to be part of Internet history. -What will you do with the money you earn? With the money I earn I intend to pay the costs of university. In addition, I will set up my own brand of clothes and I will finally be able to stop working at the supermarket, to pursue my dreams. I’m going to invest in micro projects of young entrepreneurs just like me so that they can have the opportunity that I’m finding so hard to have. If, even after all of that, I have some money left, I wolud like to go on holiday, rent a cleaner and bigger flat and take my girlfriend somewhere expensive for dinner.
