-With shops continuing to close isnt it nice to see the old shops still thriving especially when their window is full of tempting goodies.1944 saw the birth of Jacksons the bakers Seventy years later this shop still pulls in many a hungry customer. But what memories stir your mind. Do you ever wonder where did the bread van go?------personally i couldnt wait for the bread van to come round. Did yours come calling to where you live? were you like a kid in a sweet shop when the van doors opened to reveal sliding shelves of bread and pastries .If you had been extra good that day were you allowed a treat, and if you were how difficult a choice.what do you recall from the shelves of yesteryear? .Our bread van seemed to have everything a kid could want Monday buns Elephants feet vanilla slice Custard tart and apple charlotte Sadly my mum gave me the sad news that Johnny the bread van after 5 years of excellent service wouldnt be calling again she said something like people were under cutting him and he had to find another delivery job.But that didnt mean a thing to me i was a young kid with hopeful expectation that she was wrong and i would see my friend again. sadly i never heard the famillar toot of the bedford dormobile bread van again. Tell us your happy memories of this fine delivery service-------- jacksons 1944 and as it stands today --
