-posted this on their facebook page. are you serious Toys R Us? Its not enough to start black friday at 11pm, but now youre opening at 5pm on THANKSGIVING?!?! The people in the corporate office will be sitting down with their families, using money earned from threatening low level employees with termination if, heaven forbid, they would rather stay home. At Toys“R”Us®, we love kids! Its ironic really. You sell toys to help children have fun and happy lives growing up. You have lots of educational toys, board games, dolls, all with the purpose to stimulate a childs imagination. Thanksgiving is family time, but oh sorry, mommy has to work on thanksgiving and if she doesnt we wont be able to pay rent because she will get fired. The one thing most children want most is to have their parents spend more time with them. Around the holidays, it has always been family time, meaning even though theyre working hard most of the year to keep their children safe and cared for, you can always have Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you love kids as you so claim, why are you taking that away? We believe that honesty, integrity and compassion are the foundation upon which we work together and conduct our business. How exactly do you show compassion for your employees and your customers by forcing them to leave their families, all so you can make a little more money? Explain to me how you are a good corporate citizen by instilling these ridiculous business practices. How would anyone trust and respect your company after doing this? The corporate world is full of greedy businesss all competing for money. I understand this. I just hope you can understand why I would rather shop some place else because anything spent at your stores, ANY time of year, is saying this is an okay thing to do when it is definitely not.
