(00100) QUESTION: Why members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria do not participate in Nigerian political leadership to bring change? ANSWER: In the process of establishing an Islamic environment, Muslim scholars innovated a directionless idea and convinced their followers that it is within Islamic ideological circle. The idea has champion the mind set of most Nigerian Muslims in the sense that anything they say or claim about Islam in terms of political struggle revolved around that idea. the idea is that Muslims must participate in struggle for leadership in communism/capitalism system of democracy governing Nigeria, with the intention of dominating the system. Having dominated the system that will give them a gateway to Islamize the political system of the country. This corrupted idea created a blind assumption in the mind of Muslims that Non-Muslims are their enemy of progress. The blind assumption play a vital role in almost all the crisis that took place in Northern Nigeria. Most of the Muslims believed that if they are able to dominate the Non-Muslims in the political struggle of leadership in the country, then their problems are solved. This criminal idea hold no merit rather demerits; 1 - The only achievement of this idea is setting Muslims against Non-Muslims. 2 - Psychologically the idea sold out Muslims as modern slaves at the hands of Northern politicians. 3 - Worse of it, the idea ridicules the intellectual capacity of Islam. 4 - The idea clearly unveiled the narrow mindedness of Nigerian Muslims. What the scholars who innovated such criminal idea dont know and do not want to know is the fact that any system is made up of activities of people practicing it. And it is people that run the system, be it Communism, Capitalism or Islamism. It is people that practically implement the philosophy or idea of the system as their way of life. That means people are psychologically dominated by the system they practice. Members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria sees participating in Nigerian political leadership to bring change smiler to participating in criminal acts with the intention of converting criminal people to better ones, that is just a complete childs play. After contradicting sound human primordial disposition, it also contradicts divine scriptures (Quran and Bible).
