01 November 2013 Teaching… Here is your link for today’s teaching episode: blogtalkradio/evangelist-larry-walters/2013/11/01/real-discipleship [You may copy/paste these notes or re-write them into your journals.] Grace, Mercy, and Peace are multiplied unto us from our Father, by His Son our Messiah, through the Spirit this day as we press forward…walking even as He (our Messiah Yahshua) walked! As we continue in our journey through the Harmony of the Gospel’s, we will encamp in John 4:1-43. This will be our theme text for the next several days. So let’s pitch our tents and look into John 4:39-43 as the conversation continues between Our Messiah Yahshua and His Talmidim and the witness of the people of the city of Sychar. Our Theme Text today reads: (John 4:39) And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. Notes: 1. The woman at the well, like so many of us when we were new believers, went and told those in the city to come and see the One Who told me all that ever I did. Her life had a new energy, a new excitement and enthusiasm! She could not wait to tell someone that she had just met the Messiah! 2. This reminds me of one of the 7 Churches in Revelation; Ephesus. Like Ephesus so many of us have heard a discouraging word along the way and have left off doing what brought us great joy and contentment. Like them, today I implore you to remember your first love and first works! Allow the Zeal of Yahovah to once again ignite the fire within you to go and tell all that you meet about the One you have met. 3. Your testimony is why certain people have been placed into your life. They need to know about the One Who changed your life completely. Who has redeemed you from the pit and clutches of hell. So then they too can call upon His name and be saved! 4. Many in the Gospel of John believed upon Him. (see John 10:41-42; 11:45) (John 4:40) So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. Notes: 1. Can you hear the people all asking Him to stay for at least the night? Imagine their excitement as He stayed 2 nights! 2. I can hear them perhaps quoting Jeremiah 14:8-9 which reads… a. (Jer 14:8) “O the hope of Israel, the Saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?” b. (Jer 14:9) “Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.” (John 4:41) And many more believed because of his own word; Notes: 1. His words, they are Spirit and they are Life (John 6:63) 2. Do you remember in John 7 when the officers were sent to bring in Messiah for questioning? When they came back without Him what was their testimony? “Never man spake like this man.” (v 46) 3. As Messiah finished speaking in John 7 the testimony of the people is recorded for you and me. Verses 28-29 reads, “And it came to pass, when Yahshua ha ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine: (29) For He taught them as One having authority, and not as the scribes.” 4. Luke records in 4:32, “And they were astonished at His doctrine: for His word was with power.” 5. This is also the testimony of Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 when he wrote, a. (4) “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: b. (5) That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of Elohim.” 6. Even as the Apostle Paul, we need to make certain that the words we speak are not our own carefully planned words using man’s wisdom and logic to lead people to Messiah. We need to be sure to use the Words of Life and when we speak we need to ensure that it is “thus sayeth Yahovah!” 7. Hebrews 4:12-13 reads, a. (12) “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” b. (13) “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (John 4:42) And (they) said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. Notes: 1. Many will believe on Him simply because of your testimony. 2. Many more will believe on Him because you are simply a sign-post on their journey to eternal life. You remain faithful and allow them to see Him at work in you and then they are provoked to “hear Him!” (John 4:43) Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee. Notes: 1. This is the hardest part of the journey. Many miss their exit and over-stay their welcome and literally their purpose for being where they have been sent. 2. Simply because of a great crusade or a powerful outreach in a city or region; it does not mean that it is time to establish a church there. 3. Know when to go to the place you are called to reach. And know when it is your time to leave. 4. Often, this is our greatest mistake in our walk with Messiah. Because a great number of people have been impacted by the Gospel we believe then we are called of Elohim to stay. 5. Look at the many times when Messiah had what we would call “great success” and the next day or 2 days later He moved on. How many more people could be affected by the Gospel had we not turned our campsite into a building program? 6. Remember Phillip, again in Samaria where the whole city was full of Joy because of the great things Yahovah did through him there. Still, when he was told to go to meet with the Ethiopian Eunuch in the desert; he left. Tomorrow, Abba willing, we will break up our camp along side of Messiah and go into Galilee. We pray that our broadcasts and teachings are a blessing unto you and encouraging you in your daily walk with our Messiah Yahshua.
